Our Story
In 1976, two brothers from the coastal city of Bari, Italy, brought their family's culinary traditions to Jacksonville, Florida. Giuseppe (Joe) Renna and his brother had journeyed from Italy to Brooklyn, New York, before discovering the warm climate and beautiful beaches of Florida's First Coast. They chose a small local mall on Phillips Highway to open the first Renna's Pizza, beginning what would become a beloved Jacksonville tradition spanning nearly five decades.
Growing with Jacksonville
What started as a single location quickly became a community favorite. As Jacksonville grew, so did Renna's Pizza. In 1985, Joe expanded to the thriving Westside neighborhood of Argyle Forest, establishing what remains our flagship location today. Five years later, in 1990, we opened our doors in Mandarin, serving the growing Southside community with the same authentic Italian flavors and New York-style pizza that made us a local favorite.
A True Family Business
The Renna legacy continued to flourish as the next generation joined the family business. In 2010, Joe's daughter and son-in-law opened our third location on Marsh Landing Parkway at the Jacksonville beaches. The family tradition continued growing in 2018 when we opened our fourth location in Neptune Beach, bringing the same fresh ingredients and New York flavors that our customers have come to know and love.
Today, the business operates under two dedicated family partnerships. Matt Wymer owns and operates the original Argyle Forest and Mandarin locations, continuing the same great quality and flavors of traditional Renna's recipes. Meanwhile, Joe's son-in-law, Mike Snober, runs and operates both beach locations, ensuring the quality and integrity of our products never disappoint.
